Polarimetry and Refractometry
Automatic polarimeters
The models of the series
ADP400 And
ADP600 they are someautomatic polarimeters
among the most widespread in the world, thanks to their flexibility which makes them suitable for use in many application sectors.
Optical improvements have allowed us to enhance the already excellent base of the previous series, increasing reproducibility and analytical sensitivity.
With 80 years of experience in the sector, B S has produced a high-quality instrument using the most advanced technologies, maintaining a very low cost in relation to the specifications.
- The ADP400 series models are fully automatic polarimeters, capable of measuring the rotation angle of optically active samples simply, automatically, rapidly and reproducibly with a resolution of 0.001°.
- The ADP600 series models are fully automatic single- or dual-wavelength polarimeters capable of measuring the rotation angle of optically active samples simply, automatically, rapidly, and reproducibly with a resolution of 0.0001°. Peltier thermostat option available.

Operation
Operation and interface are very simple, data analysis and printing can be performed with the simple touch of a button, other parameters can be configured either directly at the instrument level or via dedicated management, control and processing software.
Among the main configurable parameters we highlight:
» the reading scale
» the zero adjustment
» automatic temperature correction
» automatic correction based on the construction material of the measuring tube
The results can be viewed on the instrument display, or printed directly or displayed via a personal computer and related software.
POLARIMETRY ACCESSORIES
Polarimetric tubes can reach a maximum length of 220mm with or without temperature control of both the polarimetric tube and the sample compartment.
A temperature probe inside the sample compartment monitors the temperature of the housing, while a second probe directly measures the temperature of the sample.
Thermostatically controlled water tubes can be used to achieve more precise temperature control.
In certain applications, the ADP220 can be used with a full flow funnel tube, allowing the new sample to flush out the one just measured, eliminating the need to regularly clean the tube between samples.
Optical rotation measurements require that the sample be placed in a tube with an optical path defined based on the analytical application of interest.
RFM900 series refractometers
The RFM900 series does not require any external temperature control.
The processor supports the instrument's resident software, which, through a simple interface, allows for rapid measurements and the storage of experimental data and instrument configurations. The ergonomic keyboard controls simple and functional navigation menus via cursors or numeric indexes. The entire system is accompanied by a high-resolution, high-contrast graphic display with large, clearly visible characters, necessary for customized instrument configuration and all the operating parameters needed to perform and store analyses. The software is GLP compliant. The simple and fast calibration procedure uses liquid-solution standards.
The instrument can be connected to different peripherals and interfaces including printers, personal computers and other instruments.

The RFM900 series represents a major development in the field of refractometry.
The RFM900 series consists of three standard models that allow the operator to select the one best suited to their needs.
Models vary based on:
» to the measurement range
» resolution
» to reproducibility
The RFM970 is our top-performing model, offering a refractive index measurement range of 1.30–1.70 (RI) at temperatures up to 100°C, making it suitable for a wide range of applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and petroleum industries.
Available units of measure are RI and sugar % (°Brix), with automatic temperature compensation based on the sucrose response.
The machine has been designed to ensure maximum versatility and functionality.
The prism and measuring plate have been designed to prevent samples from overflowing and contaminating the keypad and other sensitive components of the refractometer.
High-stability optics combined with a thermally self-regulating detection system ensure fast, accurate readings.

RFM700 Series Refractometers
THErefractometersRFM700 These are the most versatile and popular models. These instruments use the best technology available for quality control applications.
The RFM700 Series models are designed for quick commissioning, ensuring reliable and accurate measurements in addition to the always useful analytical data logging function.
The user can choose between Brix and RI scales and over 20 customizable units.
All models are equipped with software capable of storing the analysis results including date, time, operator, etc. as required by the most advanced modern laboratories.
High-density samples (suspensions, glues), colors, and highly viscous substances are no problem, and the instrument not only provides a repeatable reading but also a "borderline quality" measurement.
