GBC ICP-OES and ICP-TOF-MS Spectrometry

Linea ICP - OES

Among the most important features of the AVANTA Ultra Z Zeeman effect we point out:

  • Quick background correction for greater effectiveness
  • The strength of the applied magnetic field is optimized to obtain the best results (sensitivity and dynamic range) in relation to the element to be analyzed.
  • Automatic alignment of the graphite furnace to ensure fast, simple and safe operations
  • Programmable gas control with gas diversion during temperature gradients to optimize yield even on particularly optical samples.
  • Automatic lamp alignment selection, with 8-position turret, to perform multi-element analyses (up to 20 different elements).
  • Super Lamp technology allows to increase the detection limits, making the instrument more sensitive and linear in its response.
  • PAL High capacity programmable autosampler with 150 sample positions, 10 customizable plus dedicated positions for standards.

ICP Spectrometer - OES QUANTIMA

QUANTIMA can be used in many sectors and is suitable in those situations where it is necessary to minimize the ionization effect or interference from the sample matrix such as:

Agriculture. With particular reference to soil analysis where the ionization effect due to Ca is significant and very high sensitivity is required for the analysis of trace elements.

Organic Compounds and Petrochemicals. Organic samples generally have a high background signal, which creates significant problems for axial technology instrumentation.

For the majority of theanalysesA high level of sensitivity is also required, thanks to which it is possible with the INTEGRA XL to perform special analyses such as: P in "edible" oils, quality control of "lube" oils and Pb in unleaded petrol.

Biology .Championsasblood, serum, urine and tissue have a significant matrix effect that decreases the performance of axial technology systems, precisely when a high level of sensitivity is needed to determine trace toxic elements.
Geology
The main analyses involve samples with high levels of dissolved solids, but some applications, such as trace element analysis in silicate and phosphate rocks or analysis of rare earth elements, require high sensitivity and high spectral resolution.
Food (Food and beverages). In samples such as milk and dairy products, where high sensitivity is required to determine trace elements, Ca is normally present in high concentrations, which causes a strong ionization effect.

Some of the most notable strengths of QUANTIMA are:

Fully automatic optimization system:  One of the main challenges when using an ICP is usually integrating and optimizing the various instrument parameters, due to their critical interdependence.

Thanks to its sophisticated algorithm, QUANTIMA ensures complete, automatic optimization of the various instrument parameters. Even users with limited experience can obtain fast, accurate results. The software controls all operations and also runs diagnostic checks on the instrument, alerting the user to any issues and, if necessary, stopping the run before damage to the system can occur.

Analysis of problematic matrices (slurries/high-salinity samples/milk powders/solvents) can be performed without wasting time on sample preparation. Quick and easy conversion from aqueous to organic samples.

Multiple analysis sequence: Thanks to the use of an autosampler, the analysis of samples with different methods and instrumental parameters can be carried out completely automatically; the software automatically sets the parameters necessary for carrying out the analysis.

Highly stable plasma: Thanks to the fine control of the gas mass flow and the thermostatic optics, a very stable system is obtained even in environments without air conditioning and treatment of the laboratory air, guaranteeing the reproducibility of the analysis method.

Windows®-based software. The simple user interface makes multitasking quick and easy.

Software per Quantima

The INTEGRA software is the result of over twenty years of development applied to ICP technology. Continuous improvements to the software's functionality have been made based on feedback from GBC users worldwide. The software currently features all the capabilities of modules based on the latest generation Windows operating systems, allowing for multitasking software capable of complete instrument control (over 200 parameters), attractive graphics, a simple interface, and a comprehensive method library.

The method configuration is performed through an interface that is very familiar to analysts, in fact, the Periodic Table is used: by clicking on the desired element, all the parameters necessary for the control and optimization of the instrument appear in detail, all the available working wavelengths and potential interfering elements are displayed.

The instrumental parameters and analytical results can be combined graphically with each other, to be displayed in different ways (bar graph, analog display, digital display) and in the combinations preferred by the operator.

The Online Help function is displayed on the screen with a simple mouse click and is available for all software functions. The analysis report can be customized and exported to other computers for subsequent processing, even with a LIMS interface.

OPTIMAS 9600 “SIMULTANEOUS” ICP-MS-TOF Spectrometer

The Optimass 9600 offers:

  • Simultaneous measurement of the complete mass spectrum, display of 50 complete and integrated mass spectra every second.
  • High sampling rate with determination of the entire mass measuring range.
  • Multi-element transient analysis, rate of 30,000 complete mass spectra per second.
  • Simultaneous internal standardization.

Simultaneous determination of isotope ratios for all elements with standard deviations better than 0.1%. GBC is known worldwide in the field of elemental analysis, thanks to the success of its AAS and ICP lines. Now, with the help of innovative "Time of Flight" technology, it aims to strengthen its position in the global analytical market.

SOME OF THE KEY STRENGTHS OF THE OPTIMASS 9600 ARE:

The revolutionary Optimass 9500 ICP-TOF-MS “Time of Flight” has redefined the benchmarks for elemental analysis.

The Optimass 9600 revolutionized the traditional ICP-Mass market, introducing the key advantages offered by the simultaneous nature of time-of-flight mass analyzers.

The new ICP-TOF-MS technology overcomes the major difficulties and limitations associated with the scanning nature of ICP-MS instruments on the market.

The GBC ICP-MS “Time of Flight” spectrometer incorporates an orthogonal accelerator that ensures high analysis speed, combined with simultaneous mass determination, without any compromise in measurement range, sensitivity or precision.

The detection limits are equivalent to those obtainable with Quadripole instrumentation, but the remarkable analysis speed allows up to 260 masses to be produced in 10 seconds, considerably higher than conventional systems (approximately 2 samples per minute).

Simultaneous ICP-TOF-MS technology, in addition to reducing routine analysis times without compromising results, is necessary for the analysis of transient signals.

The OPTIMASS 9600 analyzes the full mass spectrum in less than 30 ms. Its high acquisition rate of 30,000 samples per second enables analysis of transient signals generated by single laser shots, electrothermal vaporization, and the display of 50 complete, integrated mass spectra per second. These capabilities open up new applications that were previously limited by the long analysis times of sequential quadrupole technology.
